Capt Nate Amsden

Captain Nathaniel Amsden is a Project Engineer for the Systems Technology Office within the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He works on a $20M a year Science and Technology program that ensures the survivability and lethality of the Combat Air Force.

Captain Amsden graduated from Brigham Young University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. He was previously a Space Defense and Cyber Engineer at the 7th Intelligence Squadron with duty at the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, MD. There he worked as an intern in the highly-competitive, 3-year Computer Network Operations Development Program. CNODP is an opportunity for a select group of highly technically inclined individuals to further develop their skills in the areas of secure system design, vulnerability analysis, computer network defense (CND), and computer network exploitation (CNE). The goal of the program is to develop a cadre of technical leaders who will improve the DOD’s and the service’s CNO capabilities.

Captain Amsden’s first assignment was at the Air Force Technical Applications Center, Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, where he was a systems engineer for the United States Nuclear Detonation Detection System.
