Biography - Monica Mitchell
Monica Browning Mitchell began her association with Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings as a member of the Walter R. “Waddy” Young Angel Flight/Silver Wings chapter at the University of Oklahoma in 1987. Throughout her active membership, Monica held a variety of officer positions at the local, regional and national levels including Chapter and Region Commander (now President), Regional and National Parliamentarian, and National Business Chairman. As an alumnae, she has served as a Silver Wings National Administrative Consultant – managing multiple manual editions over more than 10 years. She became a member of the Board of Trustees in 2003. Her recent activities for the organization include a project to organize and scan the societies archives so that our history can be available to members online. She is also Chairman of the Arnold Air Society Angel Flight Silver Wings Educational Fund (ASEF) which is raising scholarship and internship money for AAS and SW members.
Outside of her association with AAS and SW, Monica serves as Assistant Vice President - Technology for AT&T. Throughout her career at AT&T she has held positions in Network Operations, Customer Care and IT -- working with a variety of systems and new technologies. Ms. Mitchell is a winner of the President's Volunteer Service Award for mentoring and community service work. She and her husband, Allen, reside in Irving, TX with their son Connor. They enjoy both University of Oklahoma and University of Georgia football, travel, and the latest blockbusters from Hollywood.
